Interesting. I wanted to comment on Marc Beauchamp's blog about the upcoming City Council races next fall. However, I'm not allowed. Apparently, I've been "black listed" by the Record Searchlight. I also tried to see if I could comment on Bruce Ross's blog. Nope, no go. I'm so glad our local newspaper, that I am a paying customer of (yes, I admit it, I paid for 3 more months about 3 months ago). So, as a paying customer of the Record Searchlight, shouldn't I be able to comment on Redding.com? Oh well, so much for Freedom of Speech. Hmm... time to check that Redding.com User Agreement again. Well, all I can say is that the more the Record Searchlight attempts to limit my Freedom of Speech, the more I will protest and speak out!O.k., I'll double-check my facts before I confirm my "blacklist" conspiracy theory: Is anyone else out there able to comment on Marc Beauchamp's or Bruce Ross's Redding.com blog?
Luckily, thanks to the Constitution of the United States of America, and the First Amendment, I have this here "animal" called a blog that does not restrict my Freedom of Speech (FOS).
Anyway, here is what Marc Beauchamp wrote about the "candidates" that are, theoretically, going to be running for Redding City Council in November. However, Marc, if you're reading, can you please clarify what you mean by "candidates"? It is my understanding that you have to file paperwork with the City of Redding and the State of California if you're going to be running for office. It is also my understanding that the deadline to file paperwork for the upcoming City Council elections in November is actually not until August of 2008. Did all the folks you listed as "candidates" file their paperwork?
Also, Marc, please clarify how many seats will be vacated on the City Council? Are you saying that both Dickerson and Murray are running for additional terms?
Lastly, who are some of these folks, as I don't recognize some of the names.
Thanks for the clarifications! Too bad I can't actually post these questions on your blog.
Three cheers for democracy, freedom of speech and open government! Ha! Ha! ;-)

Marge, I think Redding.com is having some technical issues. I couldn't comment either. Hopefully, its just a glitch and we're not being blacklisted.
I just wanted to ask you if the reason you've decided to restrict access to the NoP&P blog is because since the Record Searchlight has the ability to keep track of all people making comments on their website, that you would likewise reserve the right to keep track of all people enjoying your websites?
Just a wonderin'
And I still cain't get in!!!!
