Tim Hearden thinks he is the "Lone Ranger" of Tehama County

Yup folks, apparently Tim Hearden thinks he is the Lone Ranger of Tehama County, and wants to remove all the frightening "fringe elements" up here in Redding.

I had to laugh (again) as I was cruising through the Reddingblog.com headlines yesterday. In his blog post, Tim Hearden called the few remaining Record Searchlight readers in Redding "fringe elements."

Last time I checked, I was still making payments to the Record Searchlight. Which makes me a card-carrying "reader." Apparently that also makes me a "fringe element." But luckily, I look great in fringe.

Tim, if you're so hot in Tehama County, I dare you to start your own newspaper down there and leave us "fringe elements" up here in Shasta County alone. Go toot your horn elsewhere, cowboy. You are not loved in Redding by anyone that I know. Adios, amigo!

Here's his post from yesterday:

An RS reader applauds 'positive changes'

Monday, April 14, 2008

Amid all the negativity you hear from some of the fringe elements in Redding, it's nice for all of us to get a note like this from a reader:

Just a note to let you know I have really noticed the positive changes in the paper in the last several weeks. WOW! What a dramatic change. I find myself wanting to read many more articles because of the higher quality and diversity of content, and the more balanced mix of local and national news. And, thank God, the obituaries are now presented in a readable format with good pictures.
Overall, the paper seems much more sophisticated. As I mentioned to you, that editorial on the mall was wonderful. Other items I've enjoyed are too numerous to mention, but the article on the cartoonist by PF comes to mind, of course Kimberly's great coverage of the GOPElection Gala, the article on Red Bluff's House of Design, the Montgomery profile because he has accomplished so much, JS's articles on Munns, etc., etc.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU
Meanwhile, I hear our circulation is up in Tehama and has been holding steady overall.
